Elizabeth's wardrobe was a stark contrast to Margaret's, who was much more daring and stylish. Elizabeth was concerned about not being too frivolous, and not being compared to Wallis. Being solid and a bit dowdy was offset for years by HM's youth and beauty. But once she was in middle age, she looked dour and frumpy. Personality-wise, she was sharp, witty and very engaging. Her clothes just didn't do her justice.
