Mathilde was the best thing to happen to Philippe. He was very testy and scowling in general, and she brought out his more personable and social side.
I think a lesson was learned by Albert's affair and the family now having to incorporate the ever more-demanding Delphine into events. The young heirs strike me as very aware that they have to weigh the possible outcomes of their actions and impulses. So far, no scandals or difficulties. There has been some political resistance against having a monarchy, but that has not gathered steam.
