Sarah Ferguson said she lost the money after taking the advice of an unnamed money 'mastermind', who convinced her to plough the money into the Duchess's U.S. based lifestyle company, Hartmoor.
She blamed her decision to start the business on advice from someone who claimed to have masterminded the careers of several big entertainers.
Her critical error, she said, was signing a contract that prevented her working for any other firm.

It is understood that Hartmoor collapsed after the Duchess failed to land major endorsement deals and allegedly fell out with her majority business partner, US multi-millionaire investment banker Todd Morley, who was not her adviser.

'I am not and never will be a victim,' she said.
'I know I am the luckiest woman in the world.I've just been facing difficulties like so many other people. The good news is I don't want to be perfect. I'm just me and I'll never change. I always come out fighting.'
