The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is having a dramatic effect on the lives of prison inmates and disillusioned young people living around the world, the Earl of Wessex has said in his first YouTube broadcast.
The royal described how the re-offending rates of prisoners who have taken up the scheme have dropped significantly in places across the globe.
Edward was interviewed to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the International Award - the worldwide name of the Duke's initiative - and described how it can help rebuild self confidence and encourage youngsters to re-engage with education.
