: They are doing what most other girls of their
: age do- at least here.
But they are not "most other girls"--they're princesses. And I think they want to be treated like "other girls" only when it suits them Other times they want to get special privileges.
And Eugenie seems to
: be hanging out at her university
: neighbourhood bars.
And that's fine. I just don't expect her to be taking off in the middle of the school week to celebrate her mother's birthday, or showing up at lots of glitzy events or whatever. She should be a student first and foremost--that is, if she's taking her studies seriously.
Zara and Peter were
: working, that was their choice,
Zara and Peter *are* working. And they did not party that much through their school years.
and although
: they were not necessarily in a lot of the
: clubs (to be discussed) they were very much
: at pubs and country parties
Some, yes. Not to the extent their York cousins seem to be though.
....they are
: country kids at heart. The horsey set they
: belong to have balls, parties, etc., and
: believe me, they can get wild.
They also
: didn't attract as much attention because,
: even though they were the Princess Royal's
: children, they themselves were not titled.
: And I think it is also a case of "the
: sins of the father" so to speak.
: Andrew and Fergie (Fergie deservedly and
: Andrew far less so) do create a bit of a
: stir, and so the reputation rubs off on
: their children.
Not in this instance. And certainly not for me. The York girls stand or fall on their own merits as far as I'm concerned, and right now they're falling.
Anne is considered the
: responsible hard working royal, so this
: reputation rubs off her children.
Again, not where I'm concerned. The Phillips kids stand or fall on their own merits, and there was a time when Zara was stumbling. But she's got her act together. And Peter Phillips--the same.
:
: Harry is often talked about as a party
: prince on this board (and he does like his
: clubs) but he is generally very liked and
: respected in the UK, by the way!
By whom? I have friends in the UK, and quite frankly they could take or leave Harry.

: Zara and Peter are actually *working.* And
: even when they were both at school, they
: weren't out partying like theor York
: cousins. As for being "surplus,"
: well, people alot further down the
: succession have inherited the Throne before
: now, so I'm not prepared to dismiss them.
: Besides, being "surplus" still
: doesn't give them carte blanche to behave as
: party fashionistas, whic is what they seem
: to think they are. The bottom line is they
: are Princesses of the Blood Royal, not
: fashionista starlets, but at the moment they
: seem to think they're the latter.
