the clothes are appalling, but then, so are many of their generation at the moment....i see girls walking down the Kings road looking a total mess...and the boys, all from good backgrounds, with weird haircuts with some mohawk rubbish going on(not like the punks, but a normal floppy haircut but with the mohawk bit added...) They dress properly for official functions, maybe we don't like fascinators, but they are the style at the moment.
They aren't at clubs every night, it is just how the press report it. And the thing is, the other students are being exactly the same. I could understand if they were doing drugs, running down Oxford street naked and giving the press the finger, swearing at the average person, getting pregnant out of wedlock, etc. But they aren't. They are going out to clubs and having a few drinks.

: Exactly- Beatrice is going out with her
: friends. The only time that the average
: student starts putting their classes before
: their parties is when it is time for exams.
: Or if the student is working full time.
:
: As for Chelsea, no matter what you think
: about her, she is training as a solicitor.
:
: I notice that most people on this board
: support many of the European monarchies.
: Which is good- they are great examples of
: duty and class. But don't you think they
: went out when they were young? The only
: difference is how their press report it.

: Who said the York girls shouldn't go out?
: That's all they seem to do, though. They
: are reportedly going to classes, but they
: seem to majoring in History of Nightclubs
: and Blender Drinks. And whatever
: "normal" college students, myself
: included, did or didn't do isn't the point.
: They are the monarch's grandchildren and in
: the public eye. At the very least they can
: be a bit more discerning in the venues they
: choose to patronize. They **SHOULD**
: enjoy their university years, do a few shady
: things and break some rules. But none of it
: should happen in public. And between
: adventures, a sober appearance in broad
: daylight wearing properly fitting clothes
: while doing something like visiting hospital
: patients or judging a garden show would go a
: long way.

:
: As far as the venues they choose, they are
: the most upmarket, 'safe' and secure
: nightclubs/bars in London with admission
: strictly monitored. The whole point of
: having a social life is to go out and have
: fun - they are too young to be staying at
: home 'out of the public eye' which is the
: other option. As far as their clothes, well
: lets face it they are appalling, but that is
: just a case of a poor sense of taste, and
: they are picking up the baton of other
: poorly dressed royals. Pss Ann comes to
: mind. They may be grandchildren of the
: Queen, but so are Zara and Peter. They are
: surplus to the future of the Monarchy. As
: far as doing public duties, maybe in the
: future they will carry out public service,
: but in my opinion the British public will
: never warm to these princesses and in the
: future they will not play an active part in
: public duties. I'm sure that is what
: Charles and William will encourage into the
: future.
