I disagree. I think this is a perfect example of how they want to be treated as "normal" when it suits them. My parents would never have wanted me to skip school for their birthdays. If Eugenie did excuse herself from class her her mother's birthday, then that just shows how little she--or her mother--really value whatevr education she's getting at uni.
