: Would the average student want to come home
: for a parent's birthday? (Of course, in
: this economic climate, the average parent
: plabably wouldn't be having a fancy-smancy
: birthday party.)
:
: I don't know, there's just something about
: the whole "tripod" relationship
: that puts me off.
:
:
: Did anybody see any photos of Andrew at this
: shindig? And what about beatrice's
: boyfriend, he's usually included in this
: sort of outing.
:
: No photos of Andrew--is he still out of the
: country? I also didn't see anything about
: beatrice's boyfriend being there either. As
: for a student attending a 50th b-day of a
: parent, well, I'd think if they're within a
: reasonable distance then yes, they'd go.
That's what I'm getting at. Beatrice being there, no problem she attends uni in London. But when a student goes away to school, for the average parents, it involves a financial sacrifice on their side and it's a good life lesson for the student if there's also some sacrifice in the other direction, such as missing out on events that happen at home during school term. Of course, this should be made clear before the decision to live away from home is made.
Of course, if Fergie had kept her word about the bikini run, this entire conversation would not be happening.
: But I also agree that there's something
: really off-putting about Sarah's
: relationship wit her daughters--like she's
: using them to improve her status and
: increase her celebrity, while at the same
: time trying to dress and act their age, if
: that makes sense?
