This photograph captures the largest gathering of dukes in one place since the Queen's coronation more than 50 years ago.
During the reign of King George I, there were 40 ducal families in Britain. Today, there are just 24 - excluding royal dukes - and 10 of them assembled for this picture by Tatler magazine, which hailed them as "diligent yet unpaid guardians of our national heritage".
They include Arthur Valerian Wellesley, the 8th Duke of Wellington, who is a sprightly 94. Britain's youngest duke, 41-year-old Torquhil Campbell, the 13th Duke of Argyll, also appears in the photograph, taken at Wiltons restaurant in St James's.
