Thankyou for everyone who tipped Marshmellows to thicken up Stoma output. Have finally found a 2 piece bag I "get on with" and now output sorted I have managed to have a great weekend with my 18 month old daughter, free from leak worries, my skin is already better and I just feel great for the first time since the operation. Now if my wound would heal up - still got 2 inches to go - I can return to the golf course

such good news. Try orahesive powder (just a tiny bit dabbed on around the stoma and learn to cut your own stoma bags, get a size template from coloplast or your stoma nurse - just measure max hight and width and cut an oval or circle accordingly. Glad things are improving for you.

Hiya, I have started cutting the bags, and have developed a way of changing bag in moring so whole process only takes 5 minutes instaed of 20! I use the powder and my skin is much better than it was - although still sore. No one warned me about bags and hot weather though!! I find I know the bag is there which I didnt pre sunshine, and the glue remains on the skin post removal!!

im no master when it comes to stomas but thought there must bo some kind of solvent to remove the glue when stuck to you in hot weather ......... surely ..... someone must know ????? ugs donna xxx

Try "Appeal" it comes in wipes and sprays. You can get them on prescription. A lot of ostomates like the spray, but carry a few wipes with them when out. But - it's personal preference. A fabric bag cover might help with the warm weather. There are lots out there, but you might want to start here: http://www.ostomylinks.co.uk/products5.html (Third box down, Ostomy Pouch Covers). To find others, just put "Ostomy Pouch Covers" into a search engine. You can even make your own. Hope your wound soon heals, Kathy

Jo has a spray which Coloplast provide which removes the glue... sorry I haven't any more info about it but hope this helps.
