Doctor

I found out yesterday that not my doctor is not moving his office 50miles away to Tulsa. He is going to stop seeing patients and is coing to 'concentrate' on his nursing home directorships and his home health care advisory. I feel like he is just dumping his patients for his convience. He only had office hours from 11-5 on Mondays, 11-2 on Wednesdays, and 11-2 on Fridays. Now for my question- I have an appointment for Wednesday. I have already made an appointment for next week with a different doctor to see about using her for my medical needs. "Should I cancel my appointment with him or just not show up, as he has done so many times and left his patients sitting there?"

keith, dont lower yourself to his standards, if you dont want to keep your appointment do the right thing and cancel it at least then someone else could have it, keep your standards as they are now HIGH :-), lossa luv n ugs donna xxxxxxx

I did first thing this morning even tho I'm fighting a cold and my appointment with the new doctor isn't till Friday the 22nd.

just cancel hon, and go see your new doc and hope you have a wonderful relationship.

Hi Beautiful- I did cancel and have an appointment with the new LADY doctor on the 22nd. I have a hollow feeling in my gut, like I've lost someone but he made the choice to shut down his practice otherwise I'd still be there supporting him even thru his stupid times. A 10 year relationship with your doctor can be somewhat traumatic when it comes to a sudden and somewhat unexpected end. I'm not sure I want to even maintain any semblance of a friendship should that situation arise. Right now I'm dazed and confused at his sudden decision to depart. I will survive and I've already made up my mind that I will be very happy with my new doctor.

hi hon, i'm so pleased to hear you being so positive, but at the same time i really do understand as i'd be devastated if i couldn't see my own specialist, even though i've only known him for four years - he's just the best. but like you say it's time to move on and i really do hope and pray in time you build a fantastic relationship with this new doc.

Keith, I'm glad to hear that you're going to be positive about the change of doctors. I really think having a good mind set about things helps in life. Although, sometime it is hard to do so. I hope you and the lady doc can work together to get you doing and feeling even better! You'll have to let us know how the appointment on the 22nd goes.
