Need advice on severe joint pain

I am getting over a flare up, but my joint pain is remaining and wors than ever before. I was wondering if any body could give me advice on a remedy to help the pain at all. I can barely move, sleep, drive, work and it is driving me crazy.

Hi there Jon
I suffered from horrendous joint pain up until i had my colon removed. I was dx with Arthritis. NOTHING would touch the pain for me apart from steroid injections into the joints.
Have you been referred to a rhumatologist at all?? They could determine exactly if its arthristis.. I'm sorry to say that the joint pain is something that can come along with Crohns.

best advice is to ask the doc hon, for both a remedy and pain meds. Devil's claw is a natural over the counter remedy from boots the chemist but it's best to get a proper diagnosis as it could indicate a number of conditions.

I nearly died with joint pain until my last bowel resection. Once the inflamed and affected portion of my gut was removed, the pain went away. But, checking with your doctor is the best thing you can do. Have you seen a rheumetologist? I did and he gave me medication which by the way did very little good at all...just made me sick to my stomach! Always best to check with your doc, anyway, but do let us know what you find out. Sending better health and pain-free days your way.........

sorry to hear you're in pain.
i too had really bad joint pain.
i am not sure if it was from the prednisone or the remicade. but i had to see an arthritis doctor. after i got off all the preds, it got better...
also cold environments doesn't help too. so if you can keep really warm...maybe that will help. or get a heat blanket for when you sleep.
