Keith, what about your potassium level? I get dehydrated quite often when sick due to my ileostomy and get wicked leg cramps because of loss of electrolytes. It actually feels as if the muscles are sticking together. I've had the hand thing, too. I have ended up having to have IV potassium a couples of times -- it burns, I won't kid you, but you might want to try some bananas and orange juice. They won't hurt anyway if you diabetes is under control.
