This is the first I've been online for a while as I was in hospital 2 weeks ago for 5 days and I'm recovering from a wee op that I had.I had a c-section on the 24th of August and had a beautiful baby girl we've called Mira!! Surprise, lol!!
There was a couple of problems during the pregnancy which meant she had to be born 7 weeks early. She stopped growing and they found a blockage in her bowel when I was 24 weeks pregnant and it started to get worse as it looked like her bowel had stopped working in the last scan I had at 32 weeks, so she came into the world early.
It turned out that her small and large bowel weren't joined and she had a few parts of her colon that were narrow. These parts were removed and she has a stoma made from her jejunum. Thankfully it's only temporary and will be reversed and her bowel joined together in about 5 weeks when she's full term. She's also on tpn as she wouldn't absorb milk because of where her stoma is. She was only 2lbs 15 oz when she was born too....she's soooooo tiny, even dolls clothes don't fit her that well, lol.
I haven't posted about this on facebook as we didn't want people knowing how bad things were for her. Only family and yourselves now know all the details. We've just told others that she was born early because of her growth slowing down.
The good news is she's thriving!! She's now 3lbs 5oz and a really fiesty!!
I'll try to post a pic of her for you all to see...she's a wee treasure!
