Today we found out son Michael has crohn's disease. His entire colon is inflamed and there is scarring at the terminal illeum. Dr prescribed Asacol & prednisone for the next six weeks. Then asacol alone. With his insurance and a discount card his cost for the asacol for a month is $280 !!! and the doctor said he waqs starting with the low cost treatment. When Mike heard the doctor say he had crohn's he turned to me and said "Thanks Dad". I know it's not supposed to be heriditary but that cut thru my heart. Tonight I am totally gutted and feel so lost. The pharmacist is going to try to get the doctor to change to another sulfonimide that is quite a bit cheaper. We will find out tomorrow. Right now Mike has been sleeping off his anesthesia from the test. I have not spoken with him since I took him home this afternoon.
I will reply to today's posts tomorrow, right now I just want to crawl in a hole.
