Hello all, it's been a while since I posted but ... life goes on, been ill for so lonmg etc etc.
The latest development in my case is that I have been awarded the funding required to start a course of Adalimumab, the latest successful TNF Blocker drug.
I am a bit scared by the cancer reports that went out in the medical news in the last few months. It is known to have caused cancer in 48 young people, no adults. I spoke to my consultant and he assures me that the risk is a very VERY small one therefore I do feel not as worried as I was.
However, I still do wonder if I should take it or not. I am very ill. It makes sense to take it if there is a chance of it making my symptoms better but, it seems such a big decision too...
So, have you taken this drug?
Are you on it?
How long have you been on it?
what side effects did you get from it?
How do you feel about taking it?
I think I just want the benefit of having spoken to someone who is actually taking the drug. I mean, it's OK for a consultant to sit and tell me how small any risks are, he will never be taking it himself right!
Please reply if you can help and maybe we can discuss is a bit here.
Thank you.
Regards,
Paulgeaf
