After much deliberation I have decided to part with 1967 Standard Cougar. It is a 289 2V car with a C4 and 8 inch differential. I am the second owner of the car and have owned it since April 2006. I will run down a list of things that have been done to the car. It has a new alternator, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, all new engine gaskets, cap & rotor, plug wires, pertronix ignition, new engine mounts and a rebuilt 2V carb. It has all new brakes both front disc and rear drum, suspension has been totally rebuilt including KYB shocks, 620 lb springs, new lower control arms, rebuilt upper arms, a upgraded front sway bar and Cobra Automotive spring perches. It will come with an Edelbrock Performer intake and 1406 600 cfm carb. I have all the original A/C and emissions equipment as well. I changed out the main wiring harness with a new used unit from West Coast Classic Cougar. It has a new electronic sequencer, and the headlights work. This is an original California car with no rust, I have the Marti Report, a shop manual and electrical assembly manual and wiring diagram that go with the car. I currently have the engine out of the car for cleaning and detailing (which is done on the engine and needs finished on the engine bay). The engine was cleaned, painted and re-sealed and the trans was rebuilt at 60,000 miles. It still shifts firmly (or did last I drove it) and rides very nicely with the rebuilt suspension. The A/C isn’t hooked up and needs serviced. I am asking $9500 CDN but I open to offers. My main reason for selling is that I think the car should go to someone who is going to drive it more than I do. I just don’t really have time anymore and would really like for someone to enjoy it. I have lots of pics for interested buyers and am more than happy to help with shipping. I will be working away trying to get everything back together.
Door tag data is as follows:
7F91C 65A A 2D 21U 52 O W
The car is currently painted a dark grey which is showing age and actually cracked at the cowl this winter. The black vinyl top is in great shape. I am located in Rocanville SK. (Canada) about 200 km east of Regina and 400 km west of Winnipeg and will be happy to answer any question. I have owned a Cougar for over ten years and I feel it is time to move on with other things in my life.
