1973 Mercury cougar convertible Q code 4 speed 351 4v
This car is very rare and worth looking at if you want a low mile very stock unmolested muscle car. The car has 92 k original miles and runs and drives great! The car was 1 of 14 standard convertibles built with the Q code 4 speed. All numbers match and are correct with all vin and tags accounted for. I have a deluxe Marti report to verify all information. This is the only 1 of the 14 that has been registered and accounted for by cougar historians.
Car history : The car was ordered in Dearborn and sent to Oakland Ca. Marty Franich Lincoln Mercury and they are still in business. I have the stock cougar manual with dealers stamp. The car remained in California until it was purchased in the early 90,s and moved the car to Oregon and then Washington. The car was garaged for this period of time to our knowledge. The car sat for years not driven because it needed general maintenance.
Work done : I purchased the vehicle and went through it front to back to make sure it was a dependable driver. It has new tune up, all new fluids, new clutch, tires, starter, brake master cylinder, stock carb rebuilt, belts, hoses, brake cleaned and adjusted, detailed completely. The car is still very stock and took efforts to keep it that way. Runs, drives and idles nice. Shifts good , strong and tight. Car handles well.
Condition of the car : The car is in very good shape as a driver. I hope to find someone who will restore the car top to bottom and put it in shows or magazines. This car would be a very easy restoration project to bring it to a #1 car. The best part is its all stock and unmolested. The body is very straight with some real minor door dings and scratches. The motor compartment is very clean. The underside of the car is very solid. Has some minor surface rust on the underside but not bad. No rusted out panels. Floors and trunk are all solid. Trunk still has stock mat. The stock H pipe exhaust is still in good shape. The exterior looks nice enough to keep as a driver. It needs interior work. Needs door panels, seat covers and a new top. Dash is all good. All lights, heater, blinkers, gauges and buzzers all work correctly.
I am looking to sell or partial trade this one of a kind car. I have lots of pics and videos of the car if there is anything specific you want to see.
