I use it for stovetop tamales that we have weekly when we can, baking (a percent with my icky flour to make really good cookies, cakes, etc.), cornbread, etc. In fact, I went to make banana bread yesterday, as I have 2 bananas in the freezer, and my daily bites of candy are gone, and Dh has nothing sweet either, when I realized that I have 0 masa left to bake with. Rats.
It should have been here last Monday, and they say that it is usually sent in 1 day. But, it didn't arrive.
So, yesterday we called them, and they said that it's back-ordered.
I'm not sure how, as the website said that it was *not* back-ordered. Some other products were, and said so.
In any case, they will let me know when it's back in stock. Rats again!
I will look forward to getting it, in any case. Now to hope for a miracle for some meat, and I'm set! :-)
And, speaking of banana bread, I could use some feedback on some ideas I've had...
What do you think of chocolate chips in banana bread? I can't eat them, but I can divide the loaves in 1/2, and put them in Dh's. He's been looking at the bag of chips for 2 months, lol!
And, do you ever do anything with your banana bread, other than eat slices? You can cut slices and freeze them, and then...eat them spread with butter or peanut butter. How about toasting them in a pan? Making 'French toast' with slices?
What do you think of adding sunflower seeds, since I can't have nuts? Better without, or good idea?
I have a little while to think about it, while waiting for my masa, so...! :-)
