(This is the weekly post where you share your week of food. Did you have anything that really made your week, such as your favorite soup, a lunch out, or maybe you had something new? Find a new food product? A new appliance? Please do share!)
Another 'good and bad' week. I made some beef and broccoli which came out better than usual. Ds had to go to the small market, and got me 2 bunches of broccoli while there. I saved 1/3 for fried rice.
Also, my flat breads came out extra good!
We had to buy eggs for the first time since spring. I hate egg buying season, but won't put fake light in the chickens' coops to keep them laying.
I got a notice that something I bought months ago (it was a very good sale, so I got it early in the year.) will ship this month.
It's a new design of mandolin. It doesn't look like it takes as much hand strength as other slicing methods, and we do a lot of veges, like carrots that I can no longer cut, and it's super safe.
So, I got one for us, to make prepping easier, faster, and safer for us, and one for Ds for the same reasons, but also so that it's safer for Thyri to be around.
If it lasts, and I've no idea how well-made it is, then she will also be able to use it safely when she is older.
You turn a handle, rather than rub food across a blade.
Dh got some 'hippie' candy corns today from Ds, so he's a happy camper.
How was your food week?
