I almost always made my homemade pizzas veggie pizzas. I really like it that way.
It must be nice to have your new neighbor and his family there. A contrast to the little annoyances with others.
Did they get something like 2"-4" drain rock?
I love RR ties, and have one which needs to come up here. They are cost prohibitive when new, and hard to find used these days, at a reasonable cost. But, worth it when you find them!
How nice that they thought of you, though, as you say, you would happily have shared with him no matter what.
We are the same way. It seems only right to help people out, especially when it's something like information.
Your pizzas sound so much like the ones that I always made. Very flavorful, herb-filled sauce base, onions, peppers, and mushrooms when I had them. For cheese, mozzarella and/or Jack, with some cheddar, and parmesan. That's just how we like it. Oh, you wouldn't care for this, but if we have them, sliced black olives.
If using meat, which is rare with my homemade version, I use the sausage. 2x's I put diced chicken that was leftover from the bbq on it, and it was delicious because it had that smoky flavor to it. One day, after a bbq the night before, I gave Ds some of the leftover chicken, as he said that he liked it on pizza. He said that I should try a little on mine, just in one corner.
So, I did, and it was delicious. The grilled flavor mixed with the pizza sauce really well. I was surprised how well.
I only had it a couple of times, then we stopped bbqing. With the fires as they've been the past few years, it just wasn't safe anywhere.
I miss bbq's. Maybe we could bbq up here in the winter, if it's wet enough. If we grilled some chicken, I could cut some up and freeze in portions for later...! We shall see what happens. :-)
Hopefully, your plants can go out again.
Have a good day!
