Lots less from Schwans because IPFoods now carries a lot more options. None frozen all fresh.
Apparently Imperfect Foods is now advertizing all over. All good for me as there are foods I had not been able to buy.
Also due to the fact that Boy & DDIL will be moving to the Philippines in a few years... and a trailer(?) will be located on my property for them to come back every six months. And their huge trailer for hauling boxes to Houston. SIGH! Not to mention a car & a pickup. SIGH, again!
If I get my license before they leave then I get to use the car while they are gone.
Back to my meals. I need to gain weight and I think I posted before that I am trying to gain weight internally on my organs, etc. I am fluctuating daily.. but I knew it would take a long time to put weight back on. If this is working I am putting on 5 lbs then drop two or three. This has affected my muscles and I think they are slowly rebuilding.
I totally lost my butt. Honest I can't ever remember being so thin. Finally I am getting it back. But so slowly. My arms are in better shape due to all the labor and my weights.
I was really scared a few months ago. But also I was horribly depressed for a number of reasons.
Naylz and I are not calling as often. It is good for both of us. She is connecting with her family more often. And I am doing more outside and inside. I put off misc projects and now am improving each week as I address a new one. It is do part this week do another part the next week.
Thank goodness the house is looking so much better. I dust and vacuum but haven't gotten to moping the floors and cleaning the carpets... but all I do do is making me feel better.
I have been reading up on how to gain weight. I am fortunate to have really low cholesterol. Because some of the suggested foods are high in C. One that I buy once a month is a quart of ice cream.
I also bought a New York style Cheesecake. Both are lasting a long time.
Sliced American cheese for sandwiches. Sliced Tillamook cheddar & Mozzarella both are part-skim milk. I don't like it but cheese is something I need to have.
I can't get sour cream I don't go shopping. Boy has to pick it up for me. I ask he buy only a few items now. Am trying to wean myself off them doing store runs for me. SIGH!
Or when they come I ask them to run me to my local store and I buy the things I can't get anywhere else. Swiss Cheese, White wine, ice cream B&J's every other month. HONEST!!! Bananas, and Zuchinni and other items.
If the kids come when the Local Veggie stand is open then I can buy veggies there that I can't get from IPFoods.
OK I have been adding canned soups to my lunches and sandwiches. Pasta meals I try for once a week - so 2 or 3 meals maybe. Rice - for fried rice, etc. Potatoes, etc. I am going to try some of Amy's canned soups from IPFoods.
Walmart is one place where I buy canned goods not found at Amazon. But that still leaves plenty I do buy on Amazon.
I was worried that the amount of cheese I ate would give me a bad cholesterol reading. To have a minimal amt was a shock. All I can think is that my walking is the secret to my success.
I walk alot. The last three weeks I was very concerned about what my reading would be. Then there is my neck problem. So far so good. The pain still shows up if I sleep wrong. But more times without pain then with.
Salads Big and full of whatever I have on hand.
I use different dressings and need to replace a few like Ranch, Blue Cheese and types of oil & vinegar.
I am getting my carbs from Breads of all kind. Multigrain, whole wheat. I make Black & Blue muffins, pancakes & waffles.
I eat applesauce if I know I won't eat breakfast early. I try and eat Avocado toast for three days, Strawberries for three days with raison toast with PNB, I have fruit cups - need a better brand - for breakfast or lunch.
Sandwiches am out of Spam, I don't like cold cuts, but Deviled ham, peanut butter on grilled cheese, and maybe BLT's with or without the bacon. That comes from Schwan and it is precooked.. so I nuke it and wipe off and grease that appears.
I have pork chops, steaks, chicken breasts & thighs & drumsticks.
Also thin crust pizza, pepperoni. Or veggie pizzas on Naan bread... each makes 3 days of lunches.
I have lots of brown onions, Mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, zucchini, bell peppers, broccoli, green beans, and so on. Lots of green peas for my favorite pasta dish. I had to buy more parm.
Popcorn is a once a week treat me Charlie & I. I get butter & salt he gets plain. It is one of the few uses for Salt. I am still taking Vit E. When I stopped I noticed that my eyes reacted.
The Diabetic test and a full eye exam will be scheduled after the 4th. I also got a call from my Insurance company - all the eye stuff is free.
I also think I Dr got authorization for a Neurologist. MS check up. Haven't been to one since I left Dallas to move here..Nov 2016.
That move was the beginning of my cholesterol surgery. Then just as i was feeling better Covid hit. I felt good physically then after the Ice storm and my neck Bah!!! All down hill. That was in February.
After my Drs appts I finally began to regain my sense of self. But at the same time DD's future took a turn for the better. She will live in CA. Visit here only.
I am very grateful for my bookkeeping experience. It's help me get a grip on my finances. I still have a number of big projects. Had a few setbacks but moving forward again.
Oh, I almost forgot I am now mixing decaf and regular coffee into a half & half blend. I can't tell if it's helping as Charlie and the cats are still waking me at 4am.
I am going to ask the kids to buy me some fried chicken for lunch when they next come up. I have had enough Subway. I love them but need a change.
I have mentioned before that I want to buy foods from an an online Italian Deli. Maybe some pastas also.
So this is the way things are going now. I also have a package of popsicles for really cold days. Cherry, Grape & Orange. Not bad. lol
I meant to add that I drink Lipton's black tea early in the morning. I have 11 types counting the Lipton's.
Right now I am no longer sitting on the porch. I stopped when the realtor was showing the house next door. My gate lattice helps but I want to do the fence along the road for real privacy. But it will take some time. I especially want to block off the road section to the yard off the back steps.
Well this was to be a catch-up post. I know I have been OFF for a number of months. I really hope I am getting back on an even keel.
OMG! I just went to turn the AC on low and found two squirrels doing a matting dance. ROLOL They are not fighting. LOL!
Well I have dishes to do from last night. I rearranged my kitchen sink. I love my new knives. A read Bread Knife. and the set I bought 2 months ago. I love the little paring knife. I use it all the time.
Food just arrived gotta go. Have a good weekend.
