Sometimes you will find the letter U, or P, or it will say Parve (sp?), etc.
There was a lawsuit a few decades ago, when a group of people who didn't care about their food being kosher said that they shouldn't have to pay more for an item to have it be so, so it's been a while.
Now, labeling shows allergens, gmo status, R-whatever with dairy for growth hormones, organic status if applicable, etc. The newest one, which I've only seen more recently, is the one for middle eastern edibility status. I would have thought that they would have continued following the kosher status, like they used to, but they have decided to have their own. I'm not seeing it widespread, yet, but I am seeing it now.
