Wow, your just wanting to start an argument aren't ya? haha. Well, everyone has their opinions. What most consider to be the better front end with kingpins is available on 66 or 65 and down I believe. I think the model year change was 67. But it has the swing axle transmission/ suspension that most don't care for. However, from 70? up, they have the IRS suspension in the rear but a ball joint front end. I personally have a 63 that I converted into a IRS rearend or you can go the other way. I have heard that a rearend conversion is much easier than a framehead conversion. Most people don't care for the super beetle front suspension because of the extra beefing that needs done on the front end,or how the components are set up. But they do have IRS. So many options, but the real question is, what exactly do you plan to do for this project? That will be the most determining factor.
