I posted today that I had found a rather odd Vanagon in a junkyard. It's a 82 with a waterboxer engine in it. I didn't think waterboxer engines were available until 84. Anyway, first reply was that it was a diesel. Hello!!! I know there are some people out there that could possibly confuse the two but I'm not one of them. Myself and another guy who was much more knowledgable about Vanagon's were crawling all over it trying to figure out why it had a factory installed WBX motor in it.
