I don't see how a spring pole would aid in increasing aggression. I look at them as a form of exercise. If the dog has a tendency to be aggressive in nature when they play, then obviously any type of reinforcement to that will cause the problem to get worse. If the dog isn't aggressive by nature, then I have always believed bad ownership and negativity are the cause of a dog's aggression. For example, people with spring poles who use it as a teaching aid encouraging the dog to "kill it" or "attack" the spring pole is probably not a good idea. With that said, spring poles are great fun for your dogs.
