Oh wow, this is an old post, wonder if it ever got sorted out.
Anyway, my advise.....check your push rod actuating piston diameter. That is the piston which houses the bearing that sits ontop of the push rod. If it gets deformed (especially under heat) it can cause problems which sounds like the piston expanding and getting stuck. And since you mention its in traffic, it would make sense since you will be holding in the clutch much more which in turn means the bearing works more, in turn creating heat which in turn expands that piston.
See what is happening, unless by now (5 years) the bike has been sold.
