""Was he talking about the same gospel. I believe that from your comments, we can be positive that Modern Muslims do not teach the gospel found in the Bible. This is a big problem since the gospel is the main thrust of Jesus' work.""
The bible is not mentionned in the Quran.Neither is is mentionned in the Bible itself. Not once do we see the word Bible.SO it is obvious that he did not mean the Bible.
And i will quote verse 2 from Deuteronomy 4:
"Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you."
But what have christians done?
Its the exact opposite of what God told them not to do.
"" In other words, perhaps the entire Old Testament is valid except for this one passage.""
Exactly! At last i see u have understood my point. As u mentionned above it is possible that this passage was introduced by wicked men.SO u are acknowledging that it is possible that there has been alterations. So if this passage could have been altered ,then any OTHER PASSAGE AS WELL is liable to the same conclusion. So my point is that u have absolutely no idea which passges are true and which are corrupted.U admitted that this passage may have been corrupted,so is is also possible that other passages have been altered. In view of such doubts ,we then cannot claim that the book is divine because it is impossible to differentiate with certainity falsehood from true words of God.And that is exactly how muslims view the verses of the Old testament.
