""You are correct that the New Testament was complied after Jesus' death. I believe the same argument can be made against the Koran. My understanding is that not only was it compiled after Mohammad's death, but the final version which Muslims now use was standardized even later.""
The Qur’an was written down in the lifetime of the Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him)used to ask some of his Companions to record the verses as they were revealed. In addition to this, many of the Companions used to learn the Qur’an by heart. Thus, although the Qur’an was compiled in one volume after the Prophet’s death, it was written down during his life.
Immediately let us contrast this to the Gospels. They were NOT WRITTEN during Jesus' lifetime but after his departure as u said yourself.
Professor Hitte also writes:"Biblical text has been subjected to editorial and amendatory treatment, but not the Qur’anic ... In its phonetic and graphic reproduction, as well as in its linguistic form, the Qur’anic text is identical with its celestial original."
""You seem to be unaware that almost any argument you bring against the Bible can be applied to the Koran. Since we don't have any original versions of the Koran, and since so far as we know we have nothing which was actually written by Mohammad, it is impossible to prove that the Koran is an accurate rendering of what Mohammad actually taught. You might exercise faith that Mohammad's followers accurately transmitted his teachings, but without any original writings of Mohammad, you can not prove it.""
Wrong! Two copies of the original Qur'an from the time of Uthman (pbuh) still exist today, one is in Istanbul and the other in Tashkant. Whosoever is interested, may compare the text of the Qur'an today from any part of the world with these two original copies, he will not find any discrepancy.More ancient manuscripts from all periods of Islamic history found in the Library of Congress in Washington, the Chester Beatty Museum in Dublin (Ireland) and the London Museum have been compared with those in Tashkent, Turkey and Egypt, with results confirming that there have not been any changes in the text from its original time of writing. The most striking fact is that there is absolutely no difference between old and new versions of the Quran.Even the Shiites and Suniite have the same Quran.SO we have historical proof that the Quran is still the same and above that we can double check since there is a memorisation pattern form generation to generation.
It has been the desire of many unbelievers to prove discrepancies in the Qur'an. Numerous attempts have been made since its revelation to find discrepancies in it. The most extensive research was done in the last century in the Institute of Munich, University of Munich, Germany. Forty two thousand copies of the Qur'an including manuscripts and printed texts, produced in different parts of the world were collected. Research was carried for almost half a century and at the end, the researchers concluded that apart from copying mistakes, there was no discrepancy in the text of those forty two thousand copies; even though they were collected from different parts of the Globe and belonged to the period between the 1st century Hijra to the 14th century Hijra.(Ref. Internet, History Of Torah, Injeel and Quran.
Qur'an is the only religious Book in the world that has been memorized by a great number of Muslims around the globe since the time of the Prophet, and has been carried down as a common practice throughout the world to this day. Those people who memorize the Qur'an are known as Huffaz-al Qur'an.They know the Qur'an word by word, syllable for syllable, hence if the world ever decided to obliterate the Qur'an from the face of this earth, the Huffaz will be able to reproduce the Qur'an in no time-thus making the Qur'an indestructible, imperishable.
""Paul does not present many sayings from Jesus. He left this task to eyewitnesses. Since he rarely quots Jesus, he has few opportunities to contradict Jesus.""
Is it?Paul is the founder of modern christianity and although he clearly contradicted Jesus (peace be upon him) christians foloow each and evry of his words.
Whether he had few or much opprtunities to contradict Jesus,it doesn t matter. He clearly contradicted him and thats my point and its surprising u are defending this.U who claim to be a faithful follower of Jesus(peace be upon him).l
I shall present the clear contradictions in my next post.
