"One of those attributes is that He will be a mighty God."
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder; AND HIS NAME SHALL BE called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God
It clearly says that this is only a NAME.Had the verse said:"and he shall be God " then it would be different because now it is attesting that Jesus is God .However this is not the case and you are nelecting this.
It clearly says "AND HIS NAME SHALL BE" NOT :HE SHALL BE".
Psalm 82:6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.' "
The Jews believe that Isaiah 9:6 is referring to Hezekiah and not Jesus, and they did indeed address Hezekiah as "Mighty God". This proves that many people before Jesus were named even at birth "El Gibor (Mighty God)", just like people were also named "Ezekiel (Strong God)", "Elli (God)", "Gabriel (Strong God)", etc...
Even if u consider Jesus to be God based on his name then why should be any different for the others?
"Amir, it appears that you acknowledge that it is appropriate to call Jesus "mighty God?""
Yes.just like it is appropriate to call Gabriel strong God.It doesn 't mean that i am acknowledging his divinity.
