Amir,
I asked you to explain the sure in the Koran to me without relying on Muslim tradition or hadiths. You have not done it. I'm still waiting for you to produce a passage from the Koran to support your attacks on Jesus' sayings. Did it ever occur to you that the same almighty God who gave the prophets messages and had them write them down, or had their associates write them down, is also capable of preserving those same writings? Research into the written manuscripts shows that both the Old and New Testaments have been preserved with great fidelity. We know what the holy books Jesus used and quoted said. We also know that Jesus respected those holy writings deeply. He never attacked their accuracy like you have done.
I believe Mohammad had a different interpretation of the New Testament than do most modern Christians. However that is not the question I am asking. My question is whether Mohammad taught that his followers were supposed to attack the accuracy of the scriptures from previous prophets. Did Mohammad ever claim in the Koran that his job was to correct mistakes in the Bible because people had changed it? It is very possible that Mohammad thought he was one of the prophets and that when he honored the previous prophets, he was honoring their writings as well. You are a Muslim, who claims to follow the Koran. I'm interested to see if you can support your claims from the Koran.
I have already pointed out an obvious flaw in the logic modern Muslims follow. You make great claims about how the Koran is such a wonderful and complete book, and yet you rely on Muslim tradition and hadiths for your actual beliefs.
Many people today blaim Mohammad and the Koran for the terrible behavior of modern Muslims. Perhaps they are wrong. Islam today is a religion which is completely trapped in traditions. Perhpas the reasons modern Muslims believe that God sanctions rape, murder, and robbery is based on the Muslim traditions. At least, in talking to Muslims who believe in the Koran only, that is the way things appear. They are on an entirely different moral plain than Muslims who rely on the hadiths and tradition for their doctrines.
You have asked me if I can move mountains? You obviously don't understand Jesus' sayings. Because you approach His teaching to criticize them rather than to learn and perhaps to be saved, you are blinded to His message. Jesus frequently spoke in parables. The parables were never meant to be taken literally.
