Let me first introduce myself,i am a new convert to islam and I would like to ask Mr Amir some questions as I am confused.Yesterday after the Jummah namaz the congregation stood up to send salaam to the prophet(pbuh).I was quite surprise beacause many people left the mosque exaclty at this instant and i heard some whispering that this was bidah.After that i went to a friend of mine who introduced me to an imam and the latter told me that this practise is not allowed in islam similar to the Milad un Nabi.I asked the imam of the mosque about his views so that I could understand both of their views but it was only to find out that he preached the exact opposite of the other imam.This got me even more confused.While browsing an islamic site I got to know of this board so I decided take a look.It seems you are a muslim and I thought maybe you could shed some light on this for me.Please respond to it as quickly as possible.
