Posted by Geet This is not a assertion, but a compilation of the little info I have that may suggest that Quran could have got all its scientific writings from India & China. 1. If you research "Hiranyagarbha" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiranyagarbha) and other materials of Vedas, it talks of the universe being made from one huge Sun. Sounds big-bang like to me ;-). 2. In India astrology was a fairly well developed Veda at olden times and it tries to predict the life of a person by calculating the influence that 7 planets have on him at the time of his birth. Even today, the astrologers talk of planets and their effects on the individual. (if the tiny moon can have effect on earth (tides), then so can the planets was the answer I got when I asked someone regarding it.) 3. Ayurveda was an astoundingly developed medical science that till date cures disorders that western medicine has no solution for. Likewise the Chinese too had advanced medicines. 4. Vedic Mathematics as you may know was in its own league. A book I have shows a formula/equation/theorem (called Sutra in Sanskrit) that goes like "... the angel of Sun, who travels for 222222 (or so) nimishas to bless us all every day". The books claims a conversion from nimisha to present day seconds and pronounce exact accuracy of time taken for light to reach earth from the sun. We all know that the Arabs actively traded with India & possible China for a long time and they even took the Indian number system and gave it to the west which became later known as the "Arabic Numerals". So it is quite possible that most of the scientific knowledge in the Quran could have been plagiarized.
