Posted by David Joelson Next evening was more of the same, only at the Riverview up the street from Tony's and then to a local pub (I think Tony said the place used to be owned by Carol Kuhlman's family, remember her?) and then some folks headed to Barb Thorpe's sister's place (as Lisa Steffans, sporting a British accent and dancing up a storm said, "I'm going where the energy is."). Caught up a bit with Alex Seiler (who looked totally relaxed and has just a wonderful family which he has rightly put high above the rat race in the scheme of things), class prez Steve Schindler (enjoying life in Manhattan - what's not to like? - and teaching other would be entrepeneurs how to be like, well, Steve), and so many others: Dmitri Cilione (looks and talks the same, other than a few gray hairs), Chris Bernard (great catching up with him), Mike Levine (working non-profit and a pleasure to talk to), Jim Hickey (lives in Tuxedo, happens to run a sales division in my neighbor's company), Barb Thorpe (raising family in Glastonbury, Ct -- a few people look as good as they did in HS, Barb actually looks better -- how is that possible?), Bill Bitting (had a great talk with him, very interesting person, unfortunately lost both his brothers in the same week some years ago), Bruce Singer in from California, talking with Bruce was like old times, Wayne Jones and Packy Murray (can in fact still do 100 pull ups as somebody on this board wondered). So many others (Pagello, Davidoff, Berardi twins, Leslie Fuhrer, and at the picnic, Marc Cohen, Bob Landeck, Denise Tandlich)...apologize for not mentioning everybody but it was great seeing all of you. Well that night I didn't get home until 4 am -- can't remember when I had so much fun. Managed to say a few goodbyes at the picnic -- was there but briefly -- and now find myself looking forward to the next reunion! For those who couldn't make this one, I'd only suggest to make a real good attempt next time -- sometimes we got so caught up on our daily lives we occasionally forget to do something nice for ourselves. This was all that and more. Love to all, Dave

For those that had to send regrets, I'll try to recap a little the weekend, even though it would be impossible to capture the fun and the feeling of "specialness" we all felt...for me it started Friday night as the first to arrive at Tony Caporale's party (still being uncool enough even after all these years to arrive first at a party!). It was great catching up with Tony, meeting his 7-year-old son Terren, and Henry (another early arriver). As somebody pointed out, there was tremendous excitement each time the door bell rang -- who would it be, would we recognize them? The early arrivers were especially delighted when Mary Kluge and Lynn McCartney walked in, relieving concerns that this would be a male-only gathering. Steve Gilbert, who I last remember seeing during the senior year talent show sitting cross-legged on the auditorium stage playing Hendrix-style guitar, arrived looking almost the same (minus the long hair of course), and, we were soon to discover, still playing a mean guitar. Marjorie Windman, who played such a big organizing role along with Henry and Tony, arrived from Eastern Long Island, freed from family obligations until Sunday, ready to party. Marge, Mary, and Lynn sang a beautiful three part "a capella" rendition of "Stealin'", also revived from that talent show, that was just unbelievable. Rich Munroe arrived from Virginia looking I believe younger than when last seen, no doubt because he can sleep well at night for all the good work he's been doing teaching special children. I could go on and on...Dan Filomena, up from Caroline, Craig Stevens (class of '73 but we still love him), Don Grasso (how fun was he?), Gayle Kaminsky (kids go to AHS, she shared with me some hair-raising coming-of-age tales of her 17 year old son which actually sounded vaguely familiar...), many others. We just talked, reminisced, played and sang music, and then I looked up and it was 2:30 am...needed to save a little for tomorrow, no?
