Re: Question for the acfl'ers
So, since Robby would not listen to the explanation yesterday, I will explain. Sony committed to play Touch with the Ozone. He is one of the Coaches for that team. He also committed to play 6 on 6 Flag with the Deadly Assassins. Very close to the start of the season (I believe 2-3 days prior) we did not have enough teams for a Touch league. Some of the teams decided to play 6 on 6 Flag and some just could not field a team this Spring season. The Ozone was then going to play Touch in the league they used to play in (The JFL), further south in New Jersey. Sony was going to play Touch in the JFL and 6 on 6 Flag in the ACFL with the Deadly Assassins. I was going to assist as much as possible to make this happen. As every Coach in the ACFL knows, I do every thing in my power to assist with scheduling. Actually, every week this season I have helped Robby and the Blazers with scheduling. They play in another league in Union, NJ. They have been able to make both leagues every week. It turns out that the JFL went out of business right at the start of the Spring season. Just closed shop and left all the teams with nothing. Even left a team that won the prior season with no free season or their money returned. Something, that I could say, would never happen here. Not over my dead body. So Sony was stuck with no Touch league and wanted to play. The Ozone decided to play 6 on 6 Flag in the ACFL. This all took place on 3/23/18, two days prior to our second week of games. Sony asked what could be done. I gave it some thought and felt the fair thing to do would be to allow Sony to play with both teams he committed to. It wasn't his fault that both Touch leagues were not happening. For the first time in 17 years that I have been involved with the ACFL, I made an exception to our rules. I set up the Conferences so Sony would not be on teams in the same Conference and would not play each other. If both teams happen to make it to the Championship, Sony would have to make a choice as to what team he would play for. His main team is the Ozone so he and both Coaches knew he would play with Ozone if they got to the chip. The Ozone has supported the ACFL and half the Ozone are guys from the Militia that have supported the ACFL for many years. Never loosing sight that this is a recreational league, I felt it was the right thing to do. If this situation involved any other teams, I feel I would do the same.
Now, with regards to questioning the Blazers roster. The only time I questioned the Blazers roster was when a team questioned me. Over the years, I have had numerous teams question other teams rosters and each time I did the same thing.
That is what I am supposed to do so I'm not sure why Robby took offense to it.
: The Blazers found out yesterday that JT gave
: permission to Sony from ozone to play on
: ozone and deadly assassins. So since jt
: bends the rules, who needs a free agent qb?
