I downloaded a trial version of a text to speech software and my autistic 9 year old loves it. It is called speech parrot and the trial download and purchase is at www.yesgoal.com. The parrot is used to open programs and read text. He greets you personnaly (when you set up the name) every time you turn on your computer. If a child cannot use the keyboard but can speak all you need is a microphone or headphone for your computer. It even had little balloons so if you cannot hear well you can read. The little parrot even tells jokes. My son says Hi Peedy every morning in response of peedys saying hi, It had helped on correct pronounciation and communication and is only 39.00. The last and most impressive is the speaking, it is clear and sounds just like us when we talk a must see.
