Mayer-Johnson Co. has several books with picture recipes--one for breakfast and one for lunch that are set up like flip-charts. Another book, I Can Cook, Too!, has 45 picture recipes and communication cards that go with each. The weekly online newspaper, News-2-You, features a weekly recipe done in symbols that relates to the main news story. I've used all of these with my non-verbal and/or low reading students from preschool thru 6th grade (some recipes are appropriate for older students too). Bon Appetit!
