If your school can afford it, it's ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! I can't recommend this enough! The vocabulary is so all-encompassing that there are hundreds of ways to use it (e.g., receptive and expressive vocab., creating schedules for things like steps for washing hands, homework assignments or daily activities, make social stories to discourage bad behaviors and encourage good ones, make board games to focus upon specific skills, etc.) Certainly for non-verbal students, it will give them a chance to communicate. There are many social vocabulary words/phrases included so your students can express their thoughts/feelings. You should also get the addendum's and even the sign lang. libraries, if you can afford it (although these are fairly inexpensive compared to the whole program). Also, try and get "Picture This" from Silverlining Media (Mayer-Johnson sells it in their catalog). There are a couple different programs/versions from them, but they are REAL photos, working on many of the same vocab. and social skills. HAVE FUN! I'm not sure if MAC or Windows is better though. It probably depends upon your preference.
