Posted by pat on 1/21/2002, 8:30 am My students really enjoy all that this paper has to offer, and I've been able to extend the activities to include language arts, math, geography, science, answering questions, following directions, and art projects. Highly Recommended!!!
If you haven't yet checked out this amazing online, download-able newspaper, you don't know what you are missing! There is a detailed description on this web site--see IN THE SPOTLIGHT ARCHIVES. Also you can get to the News-2-You site by clicking on the link at the bottom of the LINKS & RESOURCES page. I use this with my students in Life Skills and Learning Support every week--a wonderful way to bring current events into the classroom and to provide low/non- readers with success in reading! A new feature: you can download weekly Boardmaker symbols that relate to the news. Also you can get a simplified first page, templates to make up your own news pages, plus you will soon be able to order a CD of past issues. Subscription rate is available for single or group users. Also rate is pro-rated for those subscribing after the beginning of the school year.
