Hi everyone,
I thought I'd share the free program I use to count syllables for the SSI or for any other reason. Go here:
http://www.speech.ucsb.edu/roger.htm
and scroll all the way down. Click on the SMS_Install link.
The way it works is you left click your mouse
to count fluent syllables and right click for stuttered syllables (both sides count toward the total) and then the program gives you a percentage of syllables stuttered when you're done. If you try it and have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them - I've been using this program for years.
