Sorry that you couldn't make it, Bob. Yes, we did have a great time. We gave Capt. Groth a large picture of Scamp. There were about a half dozen guys from your area at the reunion. Hopefully, next time there will be more. Scamp is a unique boat and a unique crew. There is no timeframe affilation between shipmates. We are all Scampers. I was talking to a retired Admiral off of the first Scamp (277). He was saying the same thing. He feels a closeness with the 588. Ofcourse, it is nice to see your old shipmates. That is a great part of being at the reunion but our reunions have embraced all generations of Scamp Sailors. The more generations that we have represented, the better the reunion becomes. Again, I certainly do hope that you can make the next one and please encourage any other Scamp guys to attend.
