Playing USD for homecoming this year and losing would have been a momentum killer. Next year will be stepped up. I think the greater surrounding area of Long Beach and LBSU students (hopefully) realize that our OOC schedule is a test and will hang in there regardless, unlike a possible balloon poke that USD could possess.

: the first closed scrimmage was vs USD, where
: we supposedly played them even. I agree
: with Sparky, for us fans it would have been
: cool to have the AA game as an exhibition,
: and play USD as our homecoming / home
: opener, but I have much trust in our
: coaching staff and I'll just enjoy the ride.

: Has LBSU added a game to the schedule? When
: are they playing SD or are you refering to
: the exhibition against SD?

: I believe the rule is that a team can choose
: to either play a scrimmage against another
: d1 team, but it must be closed to the
: public, and neither school can make any
: official announcements about the results, OR
: a team can play up to 2 exhibitions against
: non-d1 schools. Our Coaching staff
: apparently believes that the scrimmages
: against d1 schools give the players and
: Coaches a better idea of where they stand,
: and therefore are better preperation for the
: season.
:
: I understand and respect the decision to
: play these exhibitions, but would rather we
: maybe had the Alaska Anxhorage game as an
: exhibition, and the San Diego game as our
: opener, allowing us fans a better glimpse at
: our team.

: Why are UCLA and Syracuse allowed to play
: exhibition games before a live audience and
: we are only allowed to play closed
: scrimages?

: Wasn't there supposed to be a 2nd closed
