I believe the rule is that a team can choose to either play a scrimmage against another d1 team, but it must be closed to the public, and neither school can make any official announcements about the results, OR a team can play up to 2 exhibitions against non-d1 schools. Our Coaching staff apparently believes that the scrimmages against d1 schools give the players and Coaches a better idea of where they stand, and therefore are better preperation for the season.
I understand and respect the decision to play these exhibitions, but would rather we maybe had the Alaska Anxhorage game as an exhibition, and the San Diego game as our opener, allowing us fans a better glimpse at our team.
