Is Mate Milisa Serbian? I don't remember.
He was the 2000 BWC POTY.
We also had British born Andrew Betts (C.W. Post transfer), who was 1st team all-BWC despite not being eligible until Dec. 20 in his only eligible season.
Milisa was dominant because he was unstoppable down low and could also shoot 3's well.
Betts was entirely a low post scorer and excellent rebounder (19 pts. and 10 rebs. per game in BWC play that one season).

: I would beg to disagree. If I am not mistaken,
: Joe McNaull was after Tower, as was the 7
: foot Serbian who tranfered from a d2 school
: and whose name escapes me momentarily. Help
: me out here Oracle!!

: Long Beach has not had an "impact"
: center since Chris Tower. Chris could not
: only play well with his back to the basket,
: but he could step out for a 3-ball.
: Hopefully, Chang and or Fleming can give us
: some of those skills.

: Center has always been LB's biggest
: weakness.
: Both Robinson and Phelps are both good
: rebounders. We could go small and start
: Phelps, Robinson, and Anderson across the
: frontline. They are big enough for the Big
: West.
:
: But I think Monson is hoping to start
: someone bigger at Center. Thats where
: Fleming and Chang come in. At least when we
: play the BCS Schools.
:
: We will see in a couple of weeks.

: Reading Coach Monson quote on Twitter, its
: apparent that our "center
: position" will be our biggest
: weekness. Chang and Fleming have two more
: weeks to get their act together. My biggest
: concern is rebounding. We can't afford to
: give teams second chances especially when we
: play the BCS schools. We need our guards to
: help on rebounds. Everyone needs to
: "crash the boards".
:
: Does anyone have the information on the
: final score of the scrimmage and the box
: score? I'm curious to find out how we are
: matching up.
