Just a post about the runners formerly of the beach,
Jim Grabow won the half marathon sunday morning in 1:04:46. All American in 5k indoors for the Beach a few years back. If run at USA championships last year would have been in the top 20.
Eli Rodriguez won the marathon in 2:25:57. He's won a few marathons now. Believe he won the O.C. marathon earlier this year in 2:26:30.
For the women last years star Carly Harris ran the half marathon and placed 6th overall, coming off an injury sustained getting hit by a car, and Nicole Blalock ran the full marathon just over 3 hours to place in the top ten.
The XC team this year is doing well, off to Santa Clara Invitational next weekend, then to the Big West Championships, women have an outside shot at the Big West title if all goes right, but heated race could see them 5th on a bad day. On the men's side Cal Poly is nationally ranked, and set to win again, 2nd may be a reach, but a big challenge for 3rd is possible.
