You got it exactly right!! As a former faculty member at CSULB, I wasted more time with students who were incapable of putting a cohesive sentence together or even doing basic research for assignments. When you make it into a university, you should have to demonstrate basic student skills to survive. Remedial classes at a school that is very tough to get into, (Long Beach), is such a foolish notion. Our high schools need to start doing a better job of preparing students.
