We may not win any championships, BUT if it means finishing in the elite 8 versus one and out, the money gained from the tournament is worth it and can support some of those sports you are talking about.

: hard to say, but basketball is perhaps the
: only sport where he may not be a
: negative....his image, needless to say, is a
: very large mixed bag and in those sports
: where we are recruiting kids from the upper
: middle to upper socioeconomic classes he is
: a major negative....basketball, on the other
: hand...........................is NOT the
: only sport on campus and since it is
: inconceivable that we will ever compete for
: a National Championship in either men's or
: women's basket ball I would not 'mortgage
: the house' on this guy, period!!

: Beachman, don't you think Snoop could help
: Monson in recruting?

: Bob, ask Brian Gimmillaro what the impact of
: this guy has been on his recruiting over the
: years.....crossed over?....hmmmmm

: Form (hate calling you that)
:
: Dude, the guy was on Millionaire with Regis
: Philbin, and there's no whiter man in
: America!
:
: I do believe he's crossed over.

: For a fact... each comment...take it for
: what
: it is worth. Maybe it's a certain econ
: level but he has been THE single worst thing
: to crush our city repuationa... and that
: attachs to our uni.
:
: the LBC ... ugh

: I'am sure thats true with White suburban
: parents. But I doubt if it's true with Black
: basketball recruits or even with White
: athletics.
:
: I'am white and I have a couple of teen age
: kids still living at home and they and their
: friends like Snoop.
:
: It sure hasn't hurt USC's recruiting.
:

: Snoop is the # 1 negative recruiting tactic
: used against our coaches.
:
: Welcome to the LBC...
:
: It's true with OC and south bay recruits
: (FACT)
:
: It's true with out of state recruits (FACT)
:
: And it's true with int'l recruits (FACT)
:
: Have that from multiple recruits ....
:
: The last thing we need is any relationship
: with him, his reputation or the LBC status
: of west LB.
:
: It's killing up and just piles onto the
: State School recruiting against us.
:
: It you want him, go to Oakland.
:

: You're right. It's added motivation to
: approach him.

: You read the post wrong.....not saying he is
: "taken" by SC....just that he is
: an apparent sports fan taking time to come
: to practices as well as games. Invite him
: to the Mid
:

: So what.
:
: Make him a LBS fan too.

: Snoop Dog is a USC football fan and attends
: practices and games....

: Dissagree. "Ask and you shall
: recieve." He's a Long Beach guys,
: boasts his support for The LBC, so invite
: him to perform. Do it right though.
:
: Nothing happens if you wait for it to
: happen. Make it happen.

: Remembering the Steve Martin fiasco. I would
: caution against asking Snoop to perform.
: Remember he has no ties to the University.
:
: What I would do is have Monson extend a
: personal invitation to Snoop to attend a
: practice. Then attend a Game of his choosing
: as a guest of Mens Basketball. Let him sit
: on the bence with the Players. Tell him he
: will be introduced to the crowd as a honored
: guest of LBSU Basketball.
:
: But do not ask him to perform or for a
: contribution. Let him come up with that
: idea.
