I would have loved to see this schedule another year from now, but I have to give it to the staff for understanding that recruits want to see this type of thing. I know Coach Wynn made a comment that she would like to schedule a very tough out of conference schedule as well. Now if both programs can build to a point where top teams would come to the mid that would be great. But for now, the team just needs to keep them close, giving themselves a chance at the end.

: Fantastic Schedule if the Team is ready for
: it.
:
: I have mixed feelings about it. If Monson
: made this Schedule because he wants the
: exposure and thanks the Team is ready for
: it. Then I'am all for it.
:
: If this Schedule was made by Vic simply to
: raise revenue, then it might be a mistake.

: the more big name opponents we schedule, the
: chance of a major upset gets increased. on
: paper, we could get routed at Duke, Texas,
: and Kentucky, probably vs. two of the
: Anaheim Classic opponents, and possibly at
: Notre Dame (not sure what sort of team they
: will field this year). Green Bay is
: supposedly as good as last year, and they
: creamed us here last year.
:
: but what if we don't get routed, actually
: are competitive, and win a couple of these?
: remember what we did vs. very tough BYU and
: Wisconsin on the road.
:
: We have a very experienced team returning,
: other than the center position we have
: experienced starters returning, and very
: good depth. Only ? is center, which
: probably again will be by committee. I think
: the team will be ready to go from day one
: and could upset non conference foes early on
: whose teams haven't come together yet.
:
: I see big payoffs from a schedule like this,
: not just in dollars but future returns. The
: only negative would be if we get blown out
: too much, it could hurt the team
: pyschologically, but Monson and staff seem
: to be pretty talented at keeping the team
: pysche in line.
:
: I'm sure we are on the radar of a lot of
: local mid major talent who aren't going to
: get recruited by big name schools but
: wouldn't mind any exposure they can get.
: and we can offer it to them.
:
: adding Kentucky, if true, turns this into an
: almost unbelievable schedule.

: I agree, what good is it to have this tough
: a
: schedule then go into conference with 3 or 4
: wins. It is great to play in Anaheim in
: November, but we need to take small steps
: and not run a marathon. It is a much
: improved schedule, but with Texas, Duke,
: Kentucky, Notre Dame and the Anaheim Classic
: it is a very tough task. One upset would be
: a great accomplishment.

: For it to be an rpi help, you gotta win one
: of
: these. Losing is losing, the computer
: doesn't give points for making it close.
:
: Fine line between strong schedule and over
: scheduling.
:
: Just a point.... too bad all on the road.
: PRobably very good for the budget though
: which given the morons in Sacramento is a
: very good idea this year!

: Awesome! Let's just hope we can make it a
: competitive game. If we even stay close, it
: could be a huge boost in our RPI rankings
: because we will have one of the toughest
: schedules in the NCAA.

: just got word that we got an away game with
: KENTUCKY in December, and it will be
: televised on ESPN
