We'd probably have to win 1-2 of the games against the heavyweights for it to have that type of impact. Of all my years of following this team, this is definitely the most ambitious schedule without a doubt. That Kentucky game is icing on the cake!

: This just passed either of Tex's first 2
: seasons schedules at LB.
:
: Will this lead to a top 100 national recruit
: eventually coming here straight from HS?
: Most recent one was Lucious Harris?

: It's not engraved in stone yet, but you can

: That is a ball buster non-conference
: schedule.
:
: I'm sure Calipari will want to do a
: home-and-home!!! Just make sure he's around
: after all the Derrick Rose et al stuff flows
: out of Memphis. Not sure which is slicker,
: all the goo in his hair or his recruiting.
: He might end up pulling a Floyd.

: While a loss is a loss, playing Duke, Texas,
: and Kentucky on TV helps in a couple ways.
: One is that, when recruiting, we can tell
: recruits we are planning to play against the
: top teams in the country, where they can
: showcase their talents on a National scale.
: The second is, of course the possibility
: that we win a game or two. While unlikely,
: we have a talented squad who showed last
: season they can play well in tough venues.
: Further, the media generally likes Monson
: and the exposure on National TV means more
: recruits get a chance to find out about us.
: As noted above it helps pay the bills too.
: And lastly, if we win the BW and dance in
: March the kids are less likely to be
: overawed because they are playing a tough
: team in a bright spotlight.

: For it to be an rpi help, you gotta win one
: of
: these. Losing is losing, the computer
: doesn't give points for making it close.
:
: Fine line between strong schedule and over
: scheduling.
:
: Just a point.... too bad all on the road.
: PRobably very good for the budget though
: which given the morons in Sacramento is a
: very good idea this year!

: Awesome! Let's just hope we can make it a
: competitive game. If we even stay close, it
: could be a huge boost in our RPI rankings
: because we will have one of the toughest
: schedules in the NCAA.

: just got word that we got an away game with
