Maybe I missed the conversation, but I'm curious how the budget issues are completely different. I'm not trying to raise your dander, it's a serious question.
And ralph, speaking of raising someone's dander, why do you immediately assume that I'm backing Fullerton? There's no need to resort to name calling. I'm a Long Beach State alum with many concerns about the CURRENT status of the DIRTBAG program. Claiming Major-Leaguers when discussing the prestige of your program is fine; but I'm interested in the CURRENT success of the Long Beach State baseball team, not what a small number of former players are doing AFTER they left school.
I think we all know the Commissioner's Cup is a load of hoo-ey. Like Fullerton, Long Beach is known nationally for it's baseball program. And the folks in the Athletics Department are gouging their season-ticket holders as if it's still a top-notch program. But I can't say I heard much about the Dirtbags from the national media at all this season.
